The last time I tried to install CM 5 on vmware hardware detection failed and at the time I read on the netpro forums that it was not going to be allowed. Did they change this in 5.1?

True, I am running CM5.1 on VMWare workstation on my laptop... but.

If it doesn't detect VMWare, the install will fail if the hardware requirements don't match.

For a lab, you could use that server to run vmware and install CM5 as
