Yes, I faced with the same problem.

This is the correct procedure to upgrade to 8.x:

1. In the OS79XX.TXT put P003-08-6-00 (Its P00.. not P0S.. Ok?)

2. After IP Phone loads the P003-08-6-00.bin it will look for the loader file (P0S3-08-6-00.loads) indicated in
SIPDefault.cnf (image_version: "P0S3-08-6-00")

3. The .loads file determines which image to put on the phone.
