Is this same information as compared with vpn dialup client setup?

We had a remote location connecting via vpn. Installation went through
unlike on the link. Call also goes through with a ring however no audio is
heard. Using ip communicator, it works fine without any problems.

Is the port being used by the cisco agent desktop same as the ip
communicator? Or is it not a supported scenario?
