We have a requirement to display Caller ID with COMPANY NAME and a TOLL
FREE 800 number. I have worked out with the call originating LEC the
necessary items to outpulse the 800 Toll Free number. However, when
calls reach the terminating location the Callers receive the 800 number
with either "unknown" or "out of area" for the Name field. It is my
understanding that the call terminating LEC does a lookup in their
database to resolve these numbers to names. How can I get all the LECS to
update their databases appropriately to resolve that number? I tried
having Global Crossing add the 800 number to a Toll Free directory service
which they claimed would fix the issue but that didn't work. Anyone
else know how this works or if possible? I am sure I get 800 number calls
at home with company names.
