[cisco-voip] Unity Connection 7 Hardware

Mark,

I tried to install UC 7 on VMWare and it failed, a developer told me in a
note the UC installer will not work on a VM machine. Same as you I just
want to do an evaluation/test of the system.

I eventually got it running on an HP DL380 server but it would only
install if the server had a 5140 processor at 2.33 gHz. We had to buy a
5140 processor, take out the newer processor in the server, and install
the 5140. The server spec'd out in the list is no longer available as a
standard issue from HP, supposedly if you put the specific Cisco part
number HP has some they can dust off and send you (since the server
hardware is several years old).

[cisco-voip] Unity Connection 7 Hardware

Does Unity Connection 7 have to be installed on one of the specific
hardware platforms listed at the link below? I realize the list shows the
shipping hardware versions, but I want to take it for a test-run. Is
VMWare the only option for testing UC7 if I do not have one of the servers
listed?

Thanks,
