POTS dial peers strip off explicitly matched digits.
Example:
Destination-pattern 9011T
Prefix 123
A dial peer as above will strip 9011 and prefix 123
Destination-pattern 9T
Prefix 9
A dial peer as above will strip 9 then prefix it back in
Voip dial peers do not behave in this fashion, only pots
