[cisco-voip] Minimum firmware ver. needed to upgrade from 3.1 to more current version?

I had to solve this one with 'debug tftp packets' and
saw that the firmware wasn't upgrading because it was
asking for certain files that weren't being served via
tftp-server. I first upgraded the 3.1 firmware to 3.2,
then to 7.0, and then to the current 7.0 train for
CCME 4.1 and finally both 7960+7914s showed proper
labels instead of one with numbers and one with names.
It was a unpleasant but interesting lesson although it
took some pointing out from a collegue how old the
firmware was.
I also had a phone today that didn't have the right
time and would NOT have a SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml file
created for it no matter what I did. This made the
phone display an incorrect time. So after examining
'show telephony-service tftp-bindings' several times,
I made an alias pointing towards the default 7941
configuration file with the proper SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml
name, reset the phone and the proper time was shown.
Hope that helps someone from losing some hair.
