Yep, exactly... two of my PRIs are actually on such ancient telco
hardware that I can't send anything at all, they just show the lead
number for the circuit, period.

It's all going to depend on the carrier. With some of my PRI's, I can
send *any* ANI outbound, including blank. With other PRI's, if I don't
send an ANI the carrier inserts the lead number for the circuit.
