This was done for Firefox by a Cisco CSE, though not supported by Cisco.
Check this out -
1... Go to http://www.mozilla.com
2... Click "Add-Ons"
3... Click on "Register" and register
4... Click on "Log In"
5... Click "My Account"
6... Check the "Show sandbox?" checkbox and click Save
7... Click the "Sandbox" link near the search box.
8... Type Cisco UC Dialer in the search
9... Install, and add a review!
It's very cool IMHO - every number on every web page has a click to call
icon. You can also get it without login/review here -
http://www.laurenson.com/CiscoUCDialer/
though I'm sure he would like to hear your reviews.

For dialing from any application there's the free HotKeyWebDialer from
www.myvoipsource.org It does require IE and a relaxed security setting
in IE, as documented, but dials from any application.

It sounds like a BHO for IE. You could do the same for Firefox with a
plug-in. It shouldn't be terribly difficult for someone with the
background to do this. Basically your BHO/plug-in scans the HTML and
links phone numbers to the web dialer application. I guess you could
also link to the TSP somehow. This may be easier with the BHO than a
Firefox plug-in but I'm not 100% on that.

If I have a custom in-house CRM application, I would probably need to
talk to my in-house programmers to get the click-to-dial feature. This
may not be true if my CRM application is IE dependent.
