[cisco-voip] SRST - proprietary or not?

I'm just wondering if SRST support will only be with Cisco products. For example, if I have a 3845 can I expect at somepoint in time for other products to work off this? Appliances like Cistera, IPCelerate, etc use CTI ports I gather - it would be neat to see this continue to work in a WAN failure scenario.
