[cisco-voip] shared Voicemail

There are two key components when setting up shared mailboxes. The first is alternate extensions and the second is MWI extensions (in the Messages section). The first allows a user to programme his RNA/RB target to the voicemail pilot and have the caller directed to the shared voicemail box. This also allows a phone to dial the voicemail pilot and automatically be directed to enter the password. This is by far the easiest way to do it. However, there is one caveat, if you are using Unity as your AA, calls are only directed to the primary extension not to the alternate extension if the alternate extension is entered. The MWI extension allows you to extend the signaling to other phones and is indepenent of the alternate extension entries. If you want MWI on the phone you have to add it as an MWI extension. An X indicates the primary extension.

The other way to do shared voicemail boxes is to point a callhander or internet subscriber to the shared voicemail box. This allows you to use Unity as your AA and continue to send calls to the phone but still have voicemail. In this case they will have to enter the extension of the mailbox when signing in.

  Subject: [cisco-voip] shared Voicemail

I am trying to set up a General Voice mail that a group of people can access. The DN for this number will only be used for Voice mail, so the plan is if everyone is busy the call can go to the Voice mail then some one can answer this. The user will not have the Voice mail as a shared Line on the Phones. Is there a way of calling unity and listening to the voicemail ?

can this work also work with MWI ?

  Thanks in advances
