the 'real phone' would still have to go through the same
ISP link and same VPN link. best to run some traffic analysis
tools through that VPN link to see what gives. being an ISP,
QoS isnt usually on their agenda....apart from their own
QoS and traffic shaping.
you may also need to seriously adjust the VPN so it deals
with handling lots of small packets and not wanting to
wait until theres a lot of padding..
