[cisco-voip] maximum number of shared lines on a VG224 port(s)

We are investigating putting a number of phones with the same extension onto a few of our VG224s. I don't have the REN value for the phones but they're the old Nortel Unity 1 I believe.
Is there any issue with putting 4 phones on one port? How about 4 phones on one port and another 4 phones on another port on the same VG224? What about putting 8 phones on 8 ports (which the client wants to avoid because we charge per port).
Comments? Suggestions?
