Cisco IP Phones recognize XML commands over HTTP. This can be used to
remotely control the Phone based on any trigger.

Investigate CUAE, that's an application engine revolving around building
calls / writes with AXL / SOAP to the phones (The control language on
the phone).

Subject: [cisco-voip] Remote Control of Phones
Hi All
I am looking for a way with out CME 3.2 system to remote control a phone
to turn DND on remotely based on a 'event'
We are a radio station which all runs digital with IP consoles, so I can
identify when the microphone is on and it can do stuff via IP, but I
want to as the mic is on, to "mute" the Cisco IP phone (7942), so you
can't hear the phone ringing in the studio when the Microphone is on.
Any ideas?
