[cisco-voip] CCM6.1 on vmware in lab - pub and sub will not

Did you add the sub to the pub prior to installing it? You need 1 license per CM service running.
Thanks,
Robert Knapp

Rick,
You will need to have licensing to add the subscriber. The other thing that
you need to be careful is that for the server to show up in the group config
is that the services need to be running on the subscriber.
By default on CCM 6.X you get 1 Server license and 50 Device Licenses.
You can go to system, licensing and check the license report.
Hope this helps.

communicate
Hello all,
I've got a vmware server running two instances of cucm6.1. The 1st one,
the pub, is working fine. I added a second, and want it to be a subscriber.
I'm having trouble getting the two to sync database, etc. I want to have a
CCM group with the sub as primary, and pub as secondary ccm for the
registration.
Is the reason they are not communcating related to liscensing? I'm
obviously doing this in a lab for learning, so I don't have liscenced mac
addresses and files to upload. Just wondering if that is needed in ccm6.
It's been a while since I've worked with Call Manager, 4.1(3) days. Getting
caught up again.
Thanks,
Rick.

Anyone tried to get a license using www.cisco.com/go/license this afternoon?
I've been trying for a few hours now and keep getting the following error:
"We encountered delays while trying to process your request. If you donot
receive an email detailing the status of your request within an hour, please
open a Service Request using the TAC Service Request Tool . Please have your
valid Cisco.com user Id and password available. As an alternative you may
also call our main Technical Assistance Center at 1-800-553-2447.."
Just opened a licensing case, so I'll see where that gets me.

Hello,
I have 12 ISR routers in our organization. All of them are running
the same version of CUCME and Unity Express. One of the locations has
issues with the MWI light not working on any of the phones. Is there
a place that I can start troubleshooting?
Thanks,
Dan.

I have double checked three of the routers in our system and they are
all setup the same way including the one that is not working:
CME:

ephone-dn 143
number 8000....
mwi on
!
!
ephone-dn 144
number 8001....
mwi off
!
Unity Express:
ccn application ciscomwiapplication aa
description "ciscomwiapplication"
enabled
maxsessions 6
script "setmwi.aef"
parameter "CallControlGroupID" "0"
parameter "strMWI_OFF_DN" "8001"
parameter "strMWI_ON_DN" "8000"
end application
Any other ideas?

Check that you have set MWI indicate on and off numbers in Unity Express. Then on CUCME check your ephone-dn's that has been setup for MWI on and off and make sure it has the corresponding number for the MWI with the appropriate amount of dots after the number to match the number of digits for your extensions,

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for the response!
>From what I can see IPCC Express is answering, checking time of day, and
then transferring.
I can see the CTI port answer, and then it tries the transfer. Does that
rule out faststart?
It is CCM 4.1(3) - will it attempt fast start outbound, even if that is not
setup in the trunk configuration?
If the call comes from a remote 6.1(2) cluster into the 4.1(3) and then to
the IPCC express, is that actually considered an inbound or outbound call on
the ICT? I was thinking inbound.
In terms of resources and codec, plenty of resources, codecs are ok. There
is only usually 1 call in progress using resources when I was testing.
The strange part is that the results are inconsistent.
I unchecked MTP required on the 4.1 trunk. I got 2 succesful calls and then
the third, fourth, fifth failed.
After a reset, I get the same results. A couple of succesful and then
failures. (this behaviour is consistent)
When I check MTP required all calls seem to be succesful.
They never actually use an MTP though (RTMT and traces, confirm that SW MTP
is never invoked)
The hardware XCODER is invoked instead. (It is first in the MRGL for the CTI
Port, but it is after the SW MTP's on the ICT MRGL)
Does CCM consider an MTP and HW XCODER equivalent?
Without MTP Required. I get the failures.
Why would MTP required make a difference? Especially since we dont think it
actually requires an MTP for what it is doing?
Cheers,
Tim.
