FAXing, in particular, doesn't tolerate slips at all, so I'm not
surprised that it's not working. Usually you will hear pops and
crackling on the line with slips too. You will want to set the clock to
come from one of the VWICs, for sure and you've nailed the commands to
do so.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Slip Errors on our Routers
Greetings,
We're getting some QoS complaints and lots of trouble faxing via an ATA.
I'm definitely not a router guy, but I'm trying to do some research.
It's my understanding that too many slip errors cause static and
choppiness. And maybe even echo?
I don't know how many slip errors are "too many," but I'm thinking we've
surpassed that threshold.
We have this kind of line in our config: network-clock-participate slot
x (pointing to the vwic).
I'm reading that we might need this set as well: network-clock-select x
E1 x/x/x. I haven't been able to see a line like that in our config.
Any comments?
