Hi Nikola,

Subject: [cisco-voip] Cisco Unity 4.2.1 UTIM error (Failed loading the
MiuRegistry component Error 0x80070005)

Cisco Unity 4.2.1 on Windows 2003 SP1 with Exchange 2003 and no failover.
Installation went smoothly, permissions wizard ran fine, with no issues
whatsoever.

That is, until the last phase of the install - when Unity Telephony
Integration Manager failed to start with the following error.

"Failed loading the MiuRegistry component Error 0x80070005. Access denied.

In order to use the Telephony Integration Manager your Windows account
must be a Cisco Unity Administrator and a member of the Adminstrators
group on this computer.

Needless to say, it was run under the installation account (UnityInstall),
which is a member of the local Administrators group. Also, all four Unity
accounts have their permissions set according to the install guide.

Now, I have followed the instructions in K11648085 (to no avail):

http://supportwiki.cisco.com/ViewWiki/index.php/The_user_receives_the_Fail
ed_loading_the_MiuRegistry_component_Error_0x80070005_error_message_when_r
unning_Manage_Integrations_%28utim%29_on_Cisco_Unity_4.0%284%29

Permissions wizard found no problems when re-ran, nor did the Service
Configuration wizard. Incidentally, System Administration runs without
problems, as do all the tools in the Tools Depot, with the exception of
UTIM and related ones.

I am confused, and about the rebuild. If anyone has any suggestions, I
would be eternally grateful.

Thank you!
