I disagree, you get stuck with a 2 port system and not enough suscriber mailboxes with the wrong mac.
I had this happen 4 weeks ago, a simple wrong mac took licensing 3 days to fix. It's 4 to 12 hours between responses with licensing at cisco.com, and you can only re-que no live discussion.
Thank goodness they weren't in production.

Isn't UCSS just software subscription support? I'd say use your new server to register it, but I don't think it will cause you any downtime if you have the wrong MAC. The licensing guys should be able to update to your new server without much issue.
Anyhow, you can checkout http://www.cisco.com/go/ucss if you want to read marketing fluff :)

Yes, you need to put in the MAC of the active NIC of whatever server
unity will be running on. This is "hashed" into the license key and
the system will not function if the mac you input doesn't match the
mac of the server you run unity on.
