[cisco-voip] "Require DTMF Reception" functionality

Hi all,

I want to ask about "Require DTMF Reception" functionality on the CUCM device/phone settings.


What does it really do?
Cisco documents say: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/5_0_1/ccmcfg/b06phone.html

but it's not clear:



When we are facing problems about DTMF on the customer ip phones, we check "Require DTMF Reception", and after restarting phones the problem resolves.

However, in some cases, "Require DTMF Reception" is already checked. We uncheck it and restart the phone, so the problem resolves suprisingly!

Any help will be appriciated.
