As I've mentioned earlier on the list....if you are going to another voicemail only solution, consider Unity Connection. The administrative overhead is a fraction of that of Unity. Installation takes about 45 minutes. Contact your account team to see if the free migration offer is still available.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Unity 7 HW upgrade

I am planning an upgrade from Unity 4 to 7 with new HW for Unity 7. I have voicemail only Unity 4.0.5 with failover on an AD domain with separate Exchange servers.

Is the best way to do this to install Unity 7 on the new HW on the domain with a new servername. Then use COBRAS to import Unity accounts. Or do I need to take the old server offline and then bring the new one on the domain with the old server’s name and then import Unity accounts?

Is there any documentation on this?

Thanks,

-C
