hi group..
did anybody faced this possible bug in CUCM 7.1 or maybe even earlier
versions, maybe wes or ryan have some info..or maybe it is just
missconfiguration..
our customer wants to migrate 200-300 phones from sccp to sip..
dont't ask why ( it's rather irritating story )..
they having CUCM 6.1.2..
i'm doing some staging in our lab with CUCM 7.1and BAT "migrate sccp to sip
" process fails..
the phone gets it's sip firmware but then it goes into "phone unprovisioned"
state..the phone is 7940..
i tried with CIPC as well and no luck either..
i'm able to add new 7940 as sip phone without any problem, but migration
from sccp dosn't succeed..
so, i've did some troubleshooting and find out that if i "manage" sip line
settings manually on the phone it does register but after when doing some
administration changes it deregisters again..
also, when i change default phone button template for 7940 sip phone ( which
i'm using in BAT migration ) and choose newly created phone button profile
with just one line ( default one has two ), the migrating process
succeeded..
but it continues to act weird ( canot modify line settings etc. )..
it reports :
Update failed. Maximum calls must be less than or equal to 2 if Multiple
Call Display not supported
since this sound logical, i've changed settings inherited from sccp line (
4,2 ) to max 7940 sip supports ( 2 calls, 1 bussy trigger )..
but after that i'm having this error trying to update line settings..
Add failed. Ring Settings for this line are not supported for this device
????????????????????????/..
so, in my desparation, i staged the same thing with CUCM 6.1 which my
customer originally has..
and on my surprise the migration succeeded without any problem..
the only problem i see further more is the same behaviour regarding line
settings on migrated phone..
i cannot edit any settings on line and have the same errors i mentione above
in CUCM 7.1..
Update failed. Maximum calls must be less than or equal to 2 if Multiple
Call Display not supported
Add failed. Ring Settings for this line are not supported for this device
the only way to edit these lines is to delete them and add again, which is
very painfull process for 200-300 phones..
any ideas?..
thanx..
regards..
