[cisco-voip] Load Balance between SIP dial-peers

I used DNS SRV records for sip targets. They work nice because then you don't need to duplicate dial peers for each sip target, as long as you're ok with a dependence on DNS.

When I did it, I set one record to have a higher precedence, so I don't know what the behaviour is if multiple targets have the same preference - i.e. if IOS load balances or not.

Its one router connected to 2 different targets and i think what Mark mentioned is true.

OK, could you please describe the topology?
do you have two routers with two links in-between or one router connected to two routers?

Are you sure about that? The expected behavior when creating two dial peers with identical destination patterns but different session targets is the lowest numbered dial peer is always used first and if the session target is not available the next dial peer is used. Although this does provided redundancy it's not load balancing.

Configure the dial-peers without any preference and it will work as you want if the destination-pattern is the same.
Make it and use debug voice dial-peer in to verify it.

Waiting for your reply.

You can but why do you need it, because how the first dial-peer will go down.
