[cisco-voip] MeetingPlace Express Upgrade with SMA

I'm confused as to the process to upgrade a MeetingPlace Express
installation from 2.0.2.126 to 2.1.1. The upgrade guide states the
following:

• Disable segmented meeting access (SMA) if it is enabled on your system.
See the Configuration and Maintenance Guide for
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 2.x for information on how to do
this.

• When you upgrade your system to Release 2.x, the upgraded system
automatically becomes the primary server. See the Configuration and
Maintenance Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Release 2.x for
information about SMA and how the primary and secondary servers work
together.
When referring to the Configuration and Maintenance Guide it says:

• You can disable the SMA link between the primary server and a secondary
server at any time. However, for security reasons, you can only enable the
SMA link between the primary server and a secondary server if the secondary
server is freshly installed. The primary server can use the enable and
disable functions to connect to or disconnect from several different
secondary servers, but the primary server can connect to secondary servers
only if those secondary servers are freshly installed.

My question is related to how to upgrade the works with the SMA server. If I
disable SMA and upgrade the primary server, I assume I also have to upgrade
the secondary server, which according to the first document will then make
it become a primary server itself. How then do I make it a secondary server
again and get it to talk with the primary server since it is not "freshly
installed"?

Thanks,
Adam
