[cisco-voip] Unity 4x to Unity connection 7x licensing

I can confirm that at least there was an incentive program to migrate from Unity 4 to Unity Connection 7. We did just that. We were not UM, but VM only, but I'm not sure they're going to complain. 

There's even a special licensing team to help you move your licenses over. The team that helped me did a great job (although it took quite a few emails that could have been solved with a phone call or to.;) and I actually worked with someone who licensed our original system over four years ago! 

Contact your SE to confirm whether this programme is still in place and whether you need to be on UCSS or whether standard Essential Service covers this. 

...there might be a light at the end of the tunnel for this.

Excellent question. I have just opened a case to get new licenses for an upgrade we are doing from Unity 4 to 7. It should be covered (free) - I think - but I am holding my breath. I'm sure someone on this list knows.

Unity 4x is fully blown up UM box. If I have UCSS, is it free to downgrade Unity4x to Unity conneciton 7x? 

Does anyone know if there is any need to buy a upgrade pack for this like we do in CCM4x to 6x ?
