[cisco-voip] UCCx server requirements?

So I've heard differing reports about UCC and am trying to get
clarification.

 

Prior to 6.x (and maybe 5.x) you could install UCC on the CallManager,
now they need to be separate. (we're running 6.0)

 

I've been told now that it can be installed onto any server, but I see
in Cisco's price list they have a specific category for UCC running on
MCS servers.

 

So does it have to be an MCS server (or ibm/cpq clone) or can it be
installed onto any server (even virtual)?
