[cisco-voip] Music on Hold

Multicast will prevent them from hearing the beginning of the audio
file every time they are put on hold. It will not cycle through
different tracks however.

The answer to both of these requirements is the fixed audio source as
Jason mentioned.

It sounds like what you would want is a Fixed MoH Audio Source.

There is no way to really accomplish what you want by uploading the
files to the CallManager server.

With a fixed audio source you could just dump line out of some device
into your MoH stream. It would be up to the external device to play
the different files in some sort of loop. An iPod or CD player on
repeat works just fine for this (when I test in the lab).

We are running Callmanager 4.2.3. I currently have Music on Hold
configured and running, but it plays one track, and always starts
from the beginning of the track.

Is there any way to configure so that when someone is placed on hold,
the track is already playing in a loop, so the chances of always
hearing the start of the track are much lower? And to go a bit
further, can we have it setup so that the system cycles through a
handful of tracks? I have 6 tracks loaded on the server, but again,
only one is playing.

I tried playing with multicasting, but I am not sure if that is even
what I need to get working in order to achieve any of what I hope to
achieve.

Thank you.
