I understand what you are saying but if you want to continue running it you can. You don’t have to stop, you just don’t get support from Cisco. I know companies that are still running some critical business applications on NT 4.0 and Novell 4.1 .

I know it's like comparing apples to oranges, but it's very difficult to convince mgmt for all these extra dollars for upgrades, when the system is doing exactly what you need now.

I can appreciate EOL'ing a product, with no future feature upgrades, but you should be allowed to run the existing version for more than 3 years. People usually wait 1 or 2 years to let the wrinkles iron out, then jump on. The the EOL is announced. It's not pretty.

And please don't compare it to running Windows 95 on my PC. I think it's completely different. ;)

You still have 3 years until end of Support. I am moving all of my customers
to CUCM 7.x and UCCX 7.x .

Last Date of Support:
App. SW
The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this
date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product
becomes obsolete.
 July 26, 2012
