the short answer is yes 

The way that CUCM does it is based on the call flow. So the last thing to touch the call will be the ultimate say. 

So route pattern - Route list -- route group --- Gateway

I'm pretty sure this is the case, but if I have an explicit DN on the gateway configuration page in " Caller ID DN" , i.e. no X's, does this not trump whatever you have on the phones, route patterns, etc?
