yes, you have to change the Firmware Load on 7.x to be the same as on CM 4.X , this will remove the time needed for the phones to upgrade to a new firmware.

Personally, a day or two prior to the upgrade, I would change
the phone loads on the 4.x cluster to match the load in 7.x… this way you have
one less thing to worry about.

hello,
I have client has ccm 4.1
(one Pub - 3 Subs) with about 2000 phones at +40 branch, and going to upgrade
to ccm 7.x
Most of the remote sites has
1 MB or less (could be 512 or 384) WAN link to the HQ.
Is there any problem if we
are going to do the phones upgrade for all the sites at the same time (after
the CCMs upgrades using the DMA tool)?
I used to get the best
solution from this group; anyone has any suggestion/idea for this case to
decrease the downtime as much as we can with min risk?
Thanks,
Wael Ahmed
