What is DC Offset in the receive (DAC) path? What are the symptoms?

Receive DC offset may trigger idle tones on Cisco Unified IP Phone
7975G, 7965G, 7962, 7945G, and, 7942G

 

Receive dc offset may trigger idle tones on 7942/64/45/65/75

Symptom:
dsp may introduce a dc offset in the receive (DAC) path. 

Conditions:
handset mode (possibly other modes).

Workaround:
