[cisco-voip] CCM 4.3(1) + CRS 6.0(1) password changes

Craig,

I used tinyurl to post the same URL you did.

The reason why I'm forced to use 4.3(1) is because it's the latest Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) fully approved version of CCM. I'm feeling a bit frustrated at the moment since I spent the weekend installing three boxes because my super wanted me to and because I was told be TAC that all of the CCM passwords *should* be the same but that appears not to be a requirement.

Now because of a big kerfuffle of the passwords being the same, I'm being asked to blow the boxes away *again* and have different passwords for all of them - none of which I have access to in the first place. I'd like to avoid wasting a day blowing the servers away if I can just use the password change utilities/methods listed in the URL we posted. I just wanted to make sure that my hearsay rumors of password changes causing telephony doom were false.

Paul

Paul,

Just curious but whats the reasoning for doing CM4.3? Cisco has made it very clear that there will be no future development on the windows train of CUCM.

As far as changing passwords there is a doc on CCO that outlines what needs to happen and the problems of each.

Hi folks,

I don't know why I have this premonition in my mind that changing various passwords on a three box CCM 4.3(1) cluster creates irreconcilable issues later down the line. Of course all of these password changes will need to be uniform on all three boxen but are there any potential bad effects down the line? I understand that if I have a CRS server that is already synchronized to this cluster using current authentication passwords, I'll likely have to blow that box away and reload it but is there anything else that I'm missing?

This CCM 4.3(1) cluster as well as CRS box isn't even live yet, it's still just being built for the customer I should probably add. Hence, there's no problem blowing all of these servers away and resetting all passwords.

I don't see anything predictions of telephony doom but I just wanted to ask a crowd of IPtel monkeys like me.
