[cisco-voip] UCCX Day of week problem

I'm trying to write a scheduled call back script and I need the day of week when the caller inputs a call back date. So far If I hardcode D[06/19/09].dow will return an integer of the day of week. But it won't allow me to use this format D[string_variable].dow gives me a parsing error, I've tried  D["string_variable"].dow with no go.

Any ideas?
