[cisco-voip] IP phones continue to ring after hang up

Let me state the problem again.
If Unity connection is in the picture the call continues to ring even after
the PSTN caller hangs up.
If I take Unity connection out of the picture and have the gateway call the
hunt pilot directly when the PSTN caller hangs up the call is dropped
correctly.

Ah, I had read the original email that you could only reproduce it
with Unity in the picture.

In that case it's definitely disconnect supervision as others have
pointed out.

Unity is doing release to switch. If I answer one of the ringing phones
while the PSTN caller is still on the call is connected. If I answer
the IP
phone after the PSTN call is dropped the call will end. On the
gateway the
voice port still shows up and connected even when the PSTN caller has
dropped.

I know Unity is suppose to be out of the picture on a release to
switch but
I can duplicate it with Unity and without.

Is Unity doing a release to switch or consultative transfer? If it's
release to switch then Unity should be out of the picture and there
should be no difference between the transfer and the call directly to
the hunt pilot. If Unity is doing a consultative transfer then it
would have to realize the held call leg has been disconnected and
drop the outbound call.

What happens if you answer the call that's still ringing on the
broadcast line group?

And this continues to ring for more than 10 rings or just a few?

It's a common issue with FXO ports that when someone on the calling
party's side hangs up before the called party picks up, the IP phone
can ring a few more times before actual termination completes.

                  Call
starts via FXO port on H.323 gateway. PLAR is sent to Unity
connection which does
TOD check and then sends the call to a Hunt Pilot number for a
broadcast hunt
group. If I hang the call up from the PSTN side the call continues to
ring. If
I take Unity out of the picture and send the call directly to the
Hunt pilot
everything works correctly.
