There used to be a "caller-id alerting ring" command on the fxo voice port
(I don't know if it is still supported). However, it would only accept a
value of 1 or 2. I believe 1 is required for N. America.
I assume you would prefer that the phone start ringing with a cid of
"unknown" and then shortly thereafter the cid change from unknown to
whatever is presented by the telco? My guess is if this were the case the
person answering the call will get used to this and end up waiting for cid
anyway, which will cause the same delay as you have now.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Remove Caller ID Delay
CCM 4.1.3, H323 2801, FXO ports.
People call in, they will hear 1.5 rings before we hear any rings. I assume
this is setting up Caller ID. Anyway to stop this, just let the phone ring
before Caller ID is transmitted?
thanks.
