[cisco-voip] Firmware Upgrade in Preparation for Upgrade from CCM 4.1(3)sr8 to CUCM 7.X ???

A lot of the technical sessions at seminars, conferences, etc, say to update the firmware on the phones first. It takes a huge load off the servers during the upgrade process.

I would recommend finding out what firmware versions are installed 
with the 7.X release you are going to upgrade to, and get most of your 
phones to that version in a controlled manner prior to doing the CCM 
upgrade. I've had problems before when i've neglected to to this with 
phones not upgrading properly. 

should be able to find this firmware information in the release notes 
for the exact version you are installing.
