try expect, you'll be amazed at how little effort it takes and what it can do.

with more effort, like i said, you can almost make coffee.

Never mind. It has been a while since I did any VB scripting but I can do it
in that. I will just start putty from the gui.

There's really nothing to keep you from writing a script to ssh into
the server, execute the 'utils system shutdown' command, send 'yes'
in response to the prompt, and then drop the connection. That's
what the blurb in the release note says to do.

Great. This does not answer my question. The doc does not reference
what I
am trying to do or a way to accomplish it.

Lo and behold, a quick search on cisco's website turned up this result.

First things first, do CUCM 7 boxes even give you access to the shutdown
command?

Has anyone done this before?

Has anyone wrote a script to shutdown a server using UPS
software? My UPS software can run a script file when the battery gets
low
but I
need to script the commands to shutdown the CUCM 7.x and Unity
connection
7.x .
