[cisco-voip] 2008 Domain controller?

The appliance-based ldap integration is pull-only. AD 2008 is a
supported ldap and though I've never looked at the UC ldap
configuration I bet it looks very similar to CUCM's.

OK - So CUCM has an "LDAP Integration" and "LDAP Authentication"
section similar to Connection?

Lelio,

You said:
“Well, let's put it this way, it synced with LDAP but the only LDAP
directory that was supported was AD.”

I agree with youJ The distinction is subtle, but there is one. LDAP
is a pretty good abstraction layer to AD so the point I was trying to
make is even though going to 2008AD is vastly different to 2003AD,
LDAP masks much of that for you.

wha? are you sure? perhaps things have changed from 6.1 to 7.1 (or
maybe Unity Connection behaves differently) but until 7.1 Unity
Connection 7.0 only synced with AD. Well, let's put it this way, it
synced with LDAP but the only LDAP directory that was supported was AD.

I gotta get CUCM v7 in the lab - it will be hilarious if it's the
opposite. Our IDM team will freak.

We were on 6.1.2 and we upgraded to Win2008 native mode. One thing to
keep in mind that call manager doesn’t integrate with AD. It
integrates with LDAP. The LDAP provider hasn’t changed a ton…..

This is an interesting one..
Look at this link:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/vcallcon/ps556/product_bulletin_c25-468500.html
Make sure your not running a really old release—Got someone on one of
those, long story..

I would not even think of Exchange 2010…..

We've done the schema extensions but haven't upgraded any servers
yet.. the systems guys are talking about doing it "soon" though.
Unity is the only thing I have integrated with it.

Has anyone upgraded a Domain controller to 2008 (mixed mode 2003) that
also has AD integrated CM / Unity / UCCx / Etc ?

we have about 4 DC's all running 2003 and Exchange 2007 with AD
integrated CM 6.1.2, Unity 5.0.1, and UCCx 5.0.2.

if we promote a DC to 2008 (mixed mode) am I going to kill any voice
stuff? I'm assuming not as the voice apps now just grab out of AD and
not directly write to AD.

Comments?

Thanks

Scott
