Just an FYI. I made final changes to my dial-peer on Friday after it
happened again (a user pressed a speed dial on their phone and it dialed
911). The police arrived and the management got upset because it was
the 2nd time that week.

I realized that any outside calls were being made through a dial-peer
with a destination pattern of "9T". I think this is where my problem
occurred per recommendation of others & Cisco TAC. While I cannot
explain why it happens, I just know that it doesn't anymore. I know it
is too soon to tell (only 3 business days since I made the changes), I'm
confident this was the "9T" was the problem. I cleaned up my dial-peers
and made new ones based on category (N11, local, domestic long distance,
international long distance, etc). I would advise that nobody use "9T"
when defining a dial-peer.

The show dialplan number command will not show any dial-peers if the
match is on the 9T matching dial peer.

I performed the command "show dialplan number <number>" with various
numbers. Is it normal to not have any matches given my config earlier?
The only things I get matches on are 911 & 9911. For example:

KMBT_CME#show dialplan number 6152176255

Macro Exp.: 6152176255

No match, result=-1

KMBT_CME#show dialplan number 16152176255

Macro Exp.: 16152176255

No match, result=-1

KMBT_CME#show dialplan number 916152176255

Macro Exp.: 916152176255

No match, result=1

KMBT_CME#show dialplan number 911

Macro Exp.: 911

To test the dial plan on a router you can do "show dialplan number
<number>" and it will list the dial peers in order of dial-peer matched.

How would I find out which dial-peers are being matched? On a further
note, should I just eliminate the dial peer of 9T (on dial-peer 11 &
dial-peer 3)?

On a side note, I didn't configure the CME Router. I was just told to
look at it and fix it. Ha!

I don't see anything drasticlly wrong with the translations.

Not sure that they are working the way you want as incoming numbers
would only match a 7 and make it nothing.

However the best thing for you is make sure that you know what
dial-peers are being matched when you have an issue.

If it is matching the dial peer of 9T it could cause problems

Hi Craig,

Attached is the configuration file without the ephone entries.

As for the translation patterns, 2 are defined, but only 1 is applied to
a dial-peer. There are no num-exp statements at all.

Thanks for your interest & help.

s there any num-exp statements in the system?

Also it would be helpful to see the translation patterns as well as the
telephony service section

Hi all,

Before you say anything, this isn't the issue with 911 & Cisco phones
that have been asked about a billion times over. This issue is
something I have never encountered and am not sure how to fix.

My issue is with Call Manager Express on a Cisco 2851 Router
(12.4(13r)T). My issue is with that my users, who have defined Speed
Dials on their Cisco phones. The majority of the phones we run are the
Cisco 7961. When user press the speed dial, for example which begin
with 91205XXXXXXX, it would sometimes dial 9-9-1-1-<Some Random
Numbers>. It is not consistent, but it has happened 6 or 7 times within
the past 2 months. This is a sporadic occurrence so trying to recreate
the issue will be difficult.

I've examined all the users' speed dials and they follow the normal
guidelines (begin with 9, 1 for long distance, 7 digit number).

Could it be the phone itself? Maybe software? Or maybe my config
involving dial-peers.

The Load File we have for the 7961s are SCCP41.8-3-1S.

The Boot Load is 7961G_64-02070631Amd64megRel.bin
