Keep in mind that the CUCM is no longer an ldap server so you will have to do a database query against the enduser table in your asp script.  You won't be able to do an ldap query like you could in 4.x.

That said, your plan sounds very good.   You can find info on building a custom corporate directory in the ip phone services sdk on developer.cisco.com.  I believe it even has a sample script there.
