Thanks James I do have the SRST reference set as a name so I'll change to IP
and see what happens. I may be missing a command as well thanks for the
link.

Thanks

Jobe

Since it is a SIP phone, have you setup SRST to allow SIP phones?
Call-manager-fallback is only for SCCP phones. Use the voice global pool,
etc to configure SRST for SIP endpoints. This is an older guide:
http://cisco.biz/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cusrst/admin/sipsrst/configuration
/guide/spsrst0.html but it gives the general idea.

Also, did you populate the SIP SRST setting under System in UCM? I've found
that using a name for the SRST reference has caused issues so I use the IP
address.

Thanks,

12.4(24)T is the minimum for SRST.

Show telephony-service and look at the version number

Are you sure you running a SRST/CME version that supports 9971? But a good
idea is to turn on CME and manually setup the 9971 to verify it works then
flip back to SRST. Might be missing the type c

I'm having the same problem with a 9951. I opened a TAC case and they are
saying since it's a SIP phone it needs to register like a CME phone.

It's still open so I'm still working on it. Let me know I you get this to
go.

Thanks,

Jobe

I have just implemented Cisco 9971 phones and realized few problems.

1. The phone could not get the SRST information from CallManager thus this
phone could not registered during SRST. I checked on the phone information
displayed and the standby server option is blank. The other phone models
(older) work fine.

2. The custom softkey template applied for 9971 phone does not work. Tested
with other phone models, they are all good.

i have tried to reset TFTP service, reset the phone until rebooting the CUCM
server but no luck with the above problems.

I am using CUCM 7.1.3b SU2. The 9971 firmware is SIP 9.0.2 (latest). The
gateway is cisco2921 IOS c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.150-1.M2.bin. Has anyone
experienced this issue before? Appreciate for any feedbacks.

Thanks,

Denny
