It worked with CUPS 7.0.2 and the 72GB Harddrives (SCSI).
However no way to install CUPS 7.0.8 with the same ESX settings and no way to update 7.0.2 to 7.0.8 on ESX.

I also had better luck using IDE for CUPS7 but I think it was 7.01

The hard drive is too small. It must be a minimum of 72GB.

I have successfully installed this in a lab setting.

  Hello Group

I try to install CUPS 7.0(8) on our VMWare ESX Server.
  I used the following settings:

  Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
  2 CPU
  Memory 2048 MB
  LSI SCSI Controller
  30GB Hard Drive

The installation starts and I can enter all the requested information. Then the instaallation starts an I get the following error message:
  No Drives Found
An error has occured - no valid devices were found on which to create new file systems. Please check your hardware for the cause of this problem.

After that the installation quits and the VM shuts down.

Has anyone succesfully installed CUPS on an ESX Server?

  Thanks for help
  Reto
