I think I remember 8.5.2 having really bad clipping on the speakerphone. I'd try a newer load.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Speakerphone Sounds Muffled

Hello VoIP forum,

I just rolled out a new office with 7942's running SCCP 8.5.2 firmware using UCCM v7.1.2. The execs are saying that people on the other end of the phone hear them as muffled when using the speakerphone. During testing, I hear them as being very loud. Is there anyway to turn down the volume of the microphone on a Cisco IP phone? The volume on the phone only turns down what they hear and not what the person on the other end hears.

Thanks.
