[cisco-voip] CUCM 8 with SRST 8 and SCCP Firmware Support

So is this bug resolved with updates to SRST or with the workaround? The bug says resolved, does that mean you can now register SCCP v17 phones to SRST ? 

I'm planning an upgrade to v7.1 and we have some SRST sites. Does this mean I have to keep my firmware versions on these phones to 8.3?

I believe you are correct. From the CME hot issues rss feed: 
SRST8.0: 7937, 79x1/5/2 with sccp version 17 would not register to SRST , Fixed CSCte08121
