[cisco-voip] Unity Connection - Transfer to another voicemail

Hi Chris,

I must be missing a step, I can dial directly into a voicemail and I can transfer a call directly to vm, but I can't forward, it still goes into the director's voicemail.

Here's what I did:
VM_Profile_Direct_Transfer with VM Pilot
VM Box Mask XXXX

CTI RP *XXXX in the same partition as my vm ports (even tried in the internal pt, with the same result)
CFA to vm

Added Alternate Extension *3508 to end user phone in UC.
Did a CFA to *3508 and it goes into the dialed number, i.e. the director's.

Thanks.

Try the following:

Create a Transfer to Vmail profile in UCM (use VM Pilot as per normal)
Set the Voicemail Box Mask to XXXXX (I used 6 digits here to test)

Create a CTI RP and add a DN of 6XXXX (again I used 6 as a test) in the same PT as your VM CSS

Go to UC and add an alternate extension of 65432 (again I used an extension of 5432) - I also use Partitions in Unity so I used my site specific PT here also

Go to end user phone and forward calls to 65432 - manually

Test

Just tried it and that worked.

Not sure if that's what you need but calls to the user will be forwarded to the other users vm.

Chris

I get what your saying now.

The best option would be to create a XML app that could change the CFNA to like a *extension so it moved to the secretary's VM. I cant think if another way. Maybe someone else can.

Well, in our old voicemail system, they could transfer their messages very easily on & off. So there's no need for others to bother with the password of the transferring vm. Not sharing the password prevents the pwd being changed by the secretary and mostly, the secretary doesn't have to check/enter 2 passwords in two different vm boxes. She only has to check into her vm. God knows how they can easily complain about how many passwords they have, so imagine if they need to remember the boss's pwd.
