Correct, the Gen 1 phones don't have a light in the button, but they do
display presence indicators on the screen.
BTW, if someone else has an upgraded 7.x to 8.x running and can setup a new
phone and test a quick BLF, I'd like to see if this can be reproduced
quickly.
