[cisco-voip] 9.0.3 and a 7975: PC Port Speed Issues

I've seen on some older switches (or switches running older code) that
leaving LLDP enabled on the phone configuration page can cause some
strange issues. I've seen it cause blue screens on certain Dell laptops
and cause PoE issues.

Thanks,

Matt,

We had a small network and a TAC case with a 3560G switch running
12.2.35 code and without a phone involved it did the same....

Upgraded the code and all was well...

If you have a spare switch change the code on the switch and see what
happens...

Sounds weird, but that was the ONLY change..

TAC was stumped and the engineer did not want to open a DDTS for it
cause he could not reproduce...

A local Cisco SE even looked at it and found NOTHING...

Jim

Phone is at 100full, pc is at 1000full per the phone, (Same as 7945). I
see a number of retransmits in a wireshark capture of the time during
the file copy.

The other strange thing which led me to suspect a possible duplex issue
is that when I run a speedtest I get awesome download speeds but the
upload test just fails to run. I've never seen that kind of issue
before.

Any idea why the speed drops down so much? Are you seeing excessive
retransmits, etc?

What is the PC, phone, and switchport speed?

So I have 2 phones at my desk a 7945 and a 7975, the 7975 I have the new
9.0.3 release on it, with my pc plugged into that phone my file copy
speeds etc slow to ~10kbps, if I run through my 7945 running 8.5.3 I am
fine. I also don't have issues with phone calls on the 7975. The 7975
was fine on 9.0.2. Has anyone else seen or heard of this?
