It is only the phone proxy feature that isn't supported with CIPC. Having the CIPC work on a PC running software vpn will work just fine.

So I was reading software compatibility stuff for CUCM 7 and came across this for CIPC:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cipc/7_0/english/release/notes/CIPC70_RN.html#wp60791
Under the interoperability section it states:
Cisco IP Communicator is not supported with Cisco® ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliances with Phone Proxy for Remote Access.
Is this something new? I was hoping to use the ASA to rectify some security concerns our Info Sec group had regarding using IP Communicator across our VPN.
