We are also going to go through an upgrade from CUCM 6.1.3.something to CUCM 8.x

Two things: Firstly our understanding is that to get to 8.x (from 6.x)you have to go through 7.x first. i.e. I dont think you can go straight from 6.x to 8.x

Secondly, (partly as a result of this), we intend to go to a stable version 7.x first and then after a few months go up to 8.x Mind you, we have a big install here, so we need to be ultra cautious, but it might be something you'd like to consider.
