I haven't tried it, but yes the Cisco Live SAF/CCD training I attended indicated Gatekeeper needed to go away, that it wasn't dynamic. Thus SAF/CCD was born.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Cisco SAF vs gatekeeper

Hello Guys,

I was reading about SAF over the weekend.

Can someone clarify if SAF will negate the requirement of Gatekeeper in multi-cluster environment? As per this link https://www.myciscocommunity.com/thread/8268, "... the 8.0(1) release of CUCM will support RSVP over SIP trunks, which means that you can combine SAF CCD for call routing and RSVP for CAC to interconnect multiple clusters without the need for a gatekeeper...".

Just wondering if anyone has replaced Gatekeeper with SAF yet?

Cheers,
Shine
