[cisco-voip] Personal caller ID?

Thanks all,

Yeah, I'm not really concerned with what the incoming caller ID is, I wanted to overwrite it for specific callers, but it sounds like it's a trunk based feature instead of a per call feature.

Ahh well, time to tell the boss no.

If you are using T1 you can use Debug isdn q931 command and ask them to dial in. You should see the calling number. If you are not seeing anything, in the calling number, it means that there is a problem with telco. If the number is seen then the problem is with configuration.

Are you using digital or analog circuits?
Are you using a PRI or a CAS circuit?
If you're using a PRI have you confirmed that there aren't any callerID details coming through with 'debug isdn q931?'

There's no way to give phones callerID if telco isn't sending it to you. The

best you'd have is to label calls from these trunks w/o callerID to be calling from "trunk x" or "unknown caller" or something like that.

Scenario:
VIP caller calls into Call Manager (and UCCX if that matters) and telco does
not

provide caller ID (or does not provide detailed enough caller ID). Is there
a
way to create a CallerID directory on Call Manager, so that when specific
PSTN
numbers call in, accurate CallerID is populated and shows up on the phone or

call agent software?

Can this be done with MGCP gateways or only with H323 gateways (incoming
pri)?

Thanks!
